Doxology - from tradition and from Scripture

Doxology is a short hymn of praise to God. More particularly for Christians, it is a short hymn of praise to the Trinitarian God - the God who exists in three distinct Persons, while also being of one essence. The paradoxical mystery is carried beyond comprehension to realms of adoration and worship. Hear some common doxologies from both our Scripture and our Protestant Christian heritage.
  1. Jude 1:24-25: "Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen."
  2. Gloria Patri: "Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen."
  3. The Doxology: "Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise Him, all ye creatures here below; praise Him above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen."
